As a Filipina/x immigrant, indigenous to the island of Panay, Philippines, my work is a reflection of my personal journey. It questions the post-colonial thought that drove me to migrate and explores how to bridge the diaspora to the motherland consciously. This journey, which began as a personal inquiry, has evolved into a broader exploration that goes beyond art-making centered on identity and representation alone. I use a research-to-movement performance praxis not just to present my work, but to engage my audience in the same process of questioning that I have allowed myself. My work aims to educate, inform, inspire, and bring communities together through our shared experiences and embodied experiments.
